The richest, most complex, and stylish of the 9 Premier cru in the village, the Clos du Val vineyard is owned entirely by the Prunier family. Its southern aspect assists the development of rich, ripe fruit. Shallow, very stony top-soils contribute greatly to the outstanding character of the wine. Fine, silky tannins are very present in younger wine and so patience is advised.
Dark ruby in color with ripe berry fruit aromas - blackberry, blueberry, black cherry. Floral with underlying minerality. Fine and round on the palate with silky tannins and a long finish. Very agreeable.
